About Willow Web Design and Publications
   
  I'm Wendy Kirwan, and I own and operate Willow Web Design and Publications from my office in Leesburg, Virginia. I have been living and working in the Northern Virginia area since 1989, and have been working in the graphics and printing industry since 1991. I strive to produce publications and web sites that are professional looking, functional, informative, and easy to read and navigate.


A Little History. . .

Prior to starting my own desktop publishing and web design business, I worked as the Marketing Manager for the American Public Power Association in Washington DC. In 1991, I was lucky enough to be offered a position with Composition Services, a full-service output firm located here in Leesburg. At Composition Services, I became knowledgable in Quark, Illustrator, Pagemaker Word Powerpoint and other software programs popular in the desktop publishing industry. I worked on annual reports, brochures, newsletters and other collateral material, producing them from the layout stage to running the final negatives to give to the designated printer.

In 1997, I started Kirwan Publications from my home. But seeing the need from my clients for web design and maintenance, I decided to take classes and educate myself in HTML, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Flash and other tools needed to create great web sites. Eventually, I changed the name of my business to Willow Web Design and Publications. I enjoy being able to help businesses create and maintain their corporate identity through their various printed materials, but also by helping them to utilize the web to reach out and inform the public of their products and services.
